Task 3 - Individual Ideas and Pre-Production

Ideas

Music:

The music I intend on using is The Q4 - One of these Days because most of the track sounds like a soothing, jazzy instrumental but the chorus relates to the story and narrative of my music video. "One of these days, and it won't be long. You're gonna search for me, and i'll be gone."

Video:

My music video will consist of 2 sillouhette puppets that are in a relationship and one leaves the other by walking into the horizon (dragging the hand puppet away from the paper therefore making him smaller, and smaller and smaller). As I previously stated above that the chorus relates to the story with the only lyrics of the track being "One of these days, and it won't be long. You're gonna search for me, and i'll be gone."

OR

Music:

Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World

Video:

2 sillouhette hand puppets singing the song above and maybe myself in the middle and the camera is showing them side on. The hand puppets will perform behind A2 paper with bright light in the background.

Script

Shot 1:

The song begins and I walk into the shot behind a A2 piece of paper with a bright light in the background to make the sillouhette's appear.

Shot 2:

2 seconds later i'm followed by 2 puppets, one of them is a Crocodile hand puppet and the other is a Cookie Monster hand puppet.

Shot 3:

The camera is facing from the side of me and the puppets faces so that it is evident that we are singing to the song.

Last Shot:

The 2 hand puppets (Crocodile and Cookie Monster) walk into the horizon (dragging the hand puppet away from the paper therefore making him smaller, and smaller and smaller) and I could put the Crocodile closer to the A2 piece of paper so that the Crocodile looks huge and then I get eaten by it.

My music video will be inspired by Youtube videos such as:
  • What a Wonderful World Shadow Puppet
  • WHY STOP NOW SPIT LIKE BUSTA (RANDAL)
  • Potter Puppet Pals: The Mysterious Ticking Noise
  • Four Peters
Equipment List:
  • A3 Paper
  • Portable Table
  • Video Camera
  • Small Tripod
  • Flexible Arm Light
  • 2 Cookie Monster-styled hand puppets
  • A Mac Computer
  • Final Cut Pro
