Blurred Movement (Sue's Photography)

(1 Shutter Speed, 3.4 Aperture, 200 ISO)

TO CREATE  BLURRED MOVEMENT:

1. Lower The Shutter Speed

The reason for blurred movement is simply the amount of time the shutter of a camera is open is long enough to allow your camera’s image sensor recognise the movement of your subject. The longer the shutter speed the more movement it will pick up.

2. Small Aperture

You would also have to take into consideration that if the Aperture has a longer shutter speed, it allows more light to be picked up by the sensor, so adjusting the ISO in this case to make the brightness lower so that it's correct.

3. Still, Stable Camera

There are 2 ways to create the movement to be blurred – either have your subject move or have your camera move. In the photo above, the subject is only moving the head so that it seems the rest of the body is still and head is blurred because of the low shutter speed.
