Whilst starting to record my Video Profile, I felt that if i kept it simple, the video would have less mistakes and would be better presented. Sue put us into groups of 3 consisting of Ousama, Anton and myself, and we all had a good understanding between each other so we knew that we would all help each other to make each of our videos as good as it could be. During the early stages of starting to film, i had decided to keep my video simple although it might be a bit cliche, therefore we all decided that we would all record all our footage in our videos in the confines of the college, but as i kept thinking of trying to make my video a bit more creative, i had decided that i would like to record the majority of the footage that i wanted for my Video Profile at different locations such as Hyde Park and walking back home at 8-10pm, so that i could use that as the ending of my video because of the darkness and it gives the indication that your day has come to an end and you're ready to relax in your own environment. The street lights in the background give it much-needed colour to what seems to be a dark road.
The ending is one of the aspects of the Video Profile that i was most proud of because it wasn't in the script, it was something that i had improvised while walking home with a friend and coincidentally having a camera in my bag. I also felt that i had integrated the background music well. The background music was Kanye West - Flashing lights Instrumental. That was the only track i could think of that would implement the atmosphere that i wanted. I think that combination of walking home in that lighting and darkness, and combining it with the end of Flashing Lights Instrumental gives it a subtle effect that i felt stood out in my Video Profile.
Whilst looking back at the script i had posted onto my blog, i looked and had seen that i had made a lot of changes such as the environment i would be speaking in and my intro of walking into the horizon in Hyde Park. Most of my work wasn't in the script so i thought that i gained extra skills in how to make the most of improvising in the environment you're in.
Looking back on my video, one of the things that i was most disappointed with was the fact that i hadn't included enough of the 5 shot rules that i had planned in my script such as close-up of hands, etc. I think i had only used 3 out of the 5 shots that could have been incorporated into my Video Profile. I think the only ones that were missing were the close-up of hands and extreme close-up of face. As i look back on my video i think to myself "what would it look like if i used them?". I think it would give that extra bit of effect and making it a bit more personal so that the audience interact more and have a clearer understanding.
Whilst looking back at the feedback that other people in my class had given me, I had noticed that the majority of the feedback was positive.
Overall i think that my Video Profile didn't meet my intended aims that i had said in my script but i thought that my video would of been worse than it actually is. Overall i'm pleased with my Video Profile although i know that if i had used my time in a more efficient manor, then my video profile would be longer in length and better in terms of content and quality, particularly in the effects aspects of my Video Profile.
