Strengths and Weaknesses of 2 Channel Idents



Strengths

1). Colours and Brightness
2). Music Used
3). Narration
4). Lengths

The colours and brightness seems as if they have been altered to add to the 'summer-time' expression of ambience. I think the narration adds to informative aspect of ITV's ident reminding the viewer whats next on the channel and in this instance, its the Football, which explains the concept of the ident.
I also think another aspect of the Ident that I thought was positive was the length of the Ident which I thought was short and precise.

Weaknesses

1). Font Colour

I thought the font colour was a severe weakness due to the font blending with the background picture of the Liner painting the grass. The minority of viewers might be visually impaired will find it difficult to understand and read of what channel they're on.

3.) Promoting Other Sports

One of the aspects of the Sky Sports ident that I thought was creative and versatile, was the various different application of different media platforms of which you were be able to watch various sports on, in "stunning HD". Another impressive aspect was the colourful representations of the Sky Sports News' logo such as the implementation of the colours of red and blue continuously throughout the advert. I also thought the slogan was powerful and imposing upon the viewers perception of what "home of sports news" is because of Sky Sport News forcing it upon you that Sky Sports News is the first channel you go to for all your sports news. It seemed that they had displayed a lot of different sports onto different media platforms. All of this is mentioned in a 19 second ident.
